Mares were treated with lactoferrin and cysteine-rich secretory protein-3 at the time of insemination. Endometrial cytokine expression was evaluated using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Lactoferrin was found to suppress the expression of interleukin-1 receptor antagonist in comparison with lactated ringer's solution.
