System identification method based on Bayesian Network (BN-based SI) is developed.

BN design describes causal relationship between structural parameters and response.

Gaussian function is used for BN whose size is independent of number of FE meshes.

Using BN inference instead of optimization, ill-posedness of SI problem is avoided.

Examples show BN-based SI is accurate and insensitive to missing data and noises.
