文摘

Superficial siderosis results from chronic iron deposition on the brain surface.

Underlying cause is chronic bleeding in the subarachnoid space.

Brachial plexus injury is a rare cause of superficial siderosis.

Diagnosis is made by brain MRI, especially gradient echo and T2 sequences.

Some evidence advocates early diagnosis followed by surgery.
