A 1-D model was used to estimate seawater residence times from intertidal wells. Residence times were not seasonal at a coastal bluff subterranean estuary. Residence times varied seasonally at a barrier beach subterranean estuary. Low tide residence times were greater at the barrier beach than the coastal bluff.
