This paper presents a survey on BPMSs highlighting each phase of the process lifecycle. The survey allows the organizations to perform a comparison between the BPMSs according to their objectives. This survey has been carried out using a methodology that combines systematic literature review with quality models. The paper also describes how this survey has been instantiated on specific open source BPMSs. The study also highlights an open investigation lines to research on the unsupported features.
