TSA combined with MSCs treatment through tail intravenous injection presented better protective effect on spatial learning and memory function than treatment with MSCs or TSA only in VaD model. Moreover, TSA combined with MSCs injection achieved synergistic effects on suppressing neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampus, attenuating tau phosphorylation and enhancing the activity of central cholinergic system. These results suggest that TSA combined with MSCs injection exhibit better therapeutic effect for VaD than treatment with MSCs or TSA only and might be a novel treatment for VaD.
