Cationic Ir(III) dyes with triazole-type main and ancillary ligands were synthetized. Bright emissions from deep-blue to red were achieved. Theoretical calculations were performed to study their intrinsic photophysical behaviors. Solution-processed blue-green device exhibited efficiencies of 2.19 cd A−1 and 0.97 lm W−1.
