First systematic review to examine the role of the built environment as a moderator Qualitative studies among people with disabilities describe the built environment as a moderator. Most studies are not designed to test for moderation. There are mixed results for associations between the built environment and physical activity. Gaps in the research highlight a need for recruitment of people with different types of disabilities.
