Poly(itaconic acid) modified cross-linked chitosan nanoadsorbent was prepared. The polymerization and crosslinking degrees were controlled in the preparation. The nanoadsorbent had higher uptake for adsorption of Hg(II) and Pb(II). The nanoadsorbent could be recycled with EDTA.
