Population dynamics and future persistence of the clouded Apollo butterfly in southern Scandinavia: The importance of low intensity grazing and creation of habitat patches

文摘
We modelled butterfly population dynamics based on 32 year data of varying quality. Colonizations and extinctions were affected by connectivity and local population size. The local population size was affected by patch area and grazing intensity. Projections of the future population showed a 17% extinction risk in only 10 years. Low intensity grazing and creation of new patches decreased the extinction risk.
