Winged bean trypsin/chymotrypsin inhibitor (WBCTI) is a heat-stable protein. For the occurrence of two disulfide bonds WBCTI acquires additional stability. WBCTI showed strong detrimental effects on the survival of crop pest Helicoverpa armigera.
