Compounds 18 (C18) and 25 (C25) exert anti-inflammatory effects in macrophages. C18 enhanced nuclear translocation of Nrf2 and increased HO1 expression. C25 inhibited the phosphorylation of JNK, p38 and ERK, members of the MAPKs family. C25 reduced LPS-mediated processing of caspase-1 and the cleavage of interleukin 1β. C18 and C25 may be therapeutic agents for diseases linked to inflammation.
