A new thiacalix-1-naphthalene carboxylate (TCNC) is synthesized. TCNC selectivity recognize a metal cation, Zn2+. ESI-MS and 1H NMR titration supports TCNC and Zn2+ complex formation. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics have been performed.
