Higher-order cortical areas show crossmodal plasticity following noise exposure. Noise exposure caused an increase in audiovisual processing in AuD, not V2L cortex. Extensive sensory reorganization, yet firing rates unchanged in AuD cortex. Noise-induced hearing loss shifted the functional border of the audiovisual cortex.
