Superior acetone sensor based on single-crystalline α-Fe2O3 mesoporous nanospheres via [C12mim][BF4]-assistant synthesis

Single-crystalline α-Fe2O3 mesoporous nanospheres were synthesized by an ionic liquid-assisted hydrothermal synthetic method. 1-Dodecyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([C12mim][BF4]) is a key factor to control the morphology of the final product. The sensors show the best acetone sensing property, including good selectivity, fast response, and low detection limit to acetone at 170 °C. The sensors can detect acetone down to 0.1 ppm and have good anti-interference of ethahol and humidity.
