Rh/CeO2–ZrO2 and Rh/ZrO2 catalysts were aged under diverse ageing conditions. Both ageing conditions and support materials affect structural evolution of rhodium. Rh/ZrO2 displays superior ageing resistance than Rh/CeO2–ZrO2. Rh–Zr interaction is more effective to preserve reactive small Rh particles.
