A novel mixed matrix membrane allowing for flow-through removal of boron

A MMM was prepared by phase inversion of polysulfone and a boron specific resin.

The resin blending leads to increased surface area and roughness.

The resin blending leads to increased surface hydrophilicity and membrane flux.

The adsorption shows S-type isotherm and obeys to pseudo first-order kinetic model.

The MMM has similar boron uptake but much higher adsorption rate than the resin.
