A novel anionic-imprinting amino-functional chitosan adsorbent (I-EDA-CS) was synthesized from waste crab shells. ReO4− in the matching specific cavities reacted with amine groups by electrostatic attraction and chelation. The removal efficiency of rhenium was rarely high.
