Isolation and characterization of acetylated glucuronoarabinoxylan from sugarcane bagasse and straw

Acetylated glucuronoarabinoxylans (GAX) were successfully isolated from sugarcane bagasse and straw.

Empirical model for the molecular structure of GAX’s in sugarcane is developed.

GAX’s in sugarcane bagasse has a higher degree of acetylation then in sugarcane straw.

Alteration in the substitution pattern of GAX’s modulate their conformation.
