Estimation of fixed-bed column parameters and mathematical modeling of breakthrough behaviors for adsorption of levulinic acid from aqueous solution using SY-01 resin
A hyper-cross-linked adsorption resin was used for levulinic acid separation.

Levulinic acid adsorption equilibrium was described by Langmuir isotherm model.
•
The effects of various operating conditions on breakthrough behaviors were studied.
•
The GRM was developed to simulate the breakthrough behaviors of LA adsorption.
•
The LA concentration profile within the column was predicted by the verified GRM.
