HCN2 was identified as a γ-secretase associated protein. Silencing of HCN2 resulted in decreased secreted Aβ levels. Silencing of HCN2 resulted in decreased sAPP, APP-CTF and glycolsylated APP levels. Pharmacological inhibition of HCN resulted in decreased Aβ, sAPP and APP-CTF levels. HCN2 and presenilin are in close proximity in primary neurons.
