A combined US + OSA system leads to higher sludge reduction rate than the OSA process alone. US treatment acts as a contributing factor for sludge reduction in the OSA process. The general performance of the system is improved with low intensity US treatment. Application of US treatment along with OSA process reduces initial investment costs.
