Central administration of ghrelin in chicks induced anxiogenic like effect. Ghrelin significantly increased plasma ACTH and corticosterone level. Bicuculline methiodide blocks the behavioral and physiological effect of ghrelin. Ghrelin, GABAAR and HPA axis interacts a complex way to regulate anxiogenic response.
