A comparative study for Cx26WT and Cx26T8M was proposed. The structural differences and Ca2 + ion interactions were comparatively evaluated. Significant changes were found in both tunnel and pore formation. Concentration of calcium ions passing through Cx26T8M was less than Cx26WT. The study demonstrates effect of these changes for causing non-syndromic deafness.
