In heterosexual households, women tend to do most of the household-serving labor & travel. Little previous study of household-serving travel in “non-traditional” households. We use 2003–12 time-use data to study gay, lesbian, and straight households. Gay & lesbian labor & travel tend to fall between that of straight men and women. It is sex more than sexuality that largely defines household labor & related travel.
