Dispersion of ceria nanoparticles on γ-alumina surface functionalized using long chain carboxylic acids

New method for hydrophobic CeO2 nanoparticles dispersion and stability on γ-Al2O3 surface improvement is proposed. At monolayer coverage (1.1-2.5 molecules per nm2), the carboxylic acids molecules are firmly bounded to the alumina surface. For ceria nanoparticles (3-4 nm), deposited on functionalized alumina, increase of reducibility and thermal stability is observed.
