•: CO₂ absorption enhancement using a carbonic anhydrase enzyme (NZCA) is evaluated.
•: The catalysis kinetic of NZCA is tested via stopped flow and a wetted wall column.
•: The first order rate coefficient increases more than 10 folds using 5.2 µM NZCA.
•: The enzyme maintains 70% activity after 8 h running at industrial conditions.
