Eleven novel compounds based on the lanthanides and cadmium are synthesized and characterized. The structure is a filled variant of the cubic Th6Mn23-type, with Sn, Sb, Pb, and Bi filling vacant sites. RE6Cd23T is realized for the light rare-earth metals (RE) and the heavy tetrels/pnictogens (T).
