Commercial RNA extraction kits vary in ability to remove green onion PCR inhibitors. Silica-based kits performed better than magnetic bead-based kits at lower viral load. Pre-extraction homogenization or post-extraction dilution of RNA may be required with magnetic bead-based kits.
