Passive coping during social stress results in depressive-like behavior in rats. This behavior is associated with greater inflammation in the spleen and locus coeruleus. Pretreatment with 10 mg/kg resveratrol blocks stress-induced splenic inflammation. 30 mg/kg resveratrol pretreatment blocks depressive behavior and neuroinflammation.
