Crystallization of ADP from aqueous solutions is studied by feeding antisolvent methanol.

In situ transmitted laser beam intensity and solution temperature measurements are used.

Sensitivity of the two methods for three-dimensional (3D) nucleation is compared.

Solution temperature measurements are more reliable for detection of 3D nucleation.

Processes involved during antisolvent crystallization are analyzed and discussed.
