Binding of the platinum drugs to cytochrome c induces a less organized tertiary structure. Coordination of the drugs does not essentially alter of the protein secondary structure. Binding of the platinum drugs changes conformation of the heme group microenvironment. The carboplatin-cytochrome c adducts show instability.
