A loss of REDD1 reduces skeletal muscle insulin-stimulated insulin signaling. MEK1/2 inhibition in REDD1 wildtype mice reduces REDD1 and skeletal muscle insulin-stimulated insulin signaling. mTOR inhibition in REDD1 knockout mice improves skeletal muscle insulin-stimulated insulin signaling. This work provides further support for the role of REDD1 in insulin signaling.
