Hydrocarbon contaminated soil and water microbes grown as biofilms. Biofilms used in scale reactors to treat 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). PAH degradation ability varies by biofilm inoculum source. Supplemental nutrients can increase prevalence of PAH degradation genes.
