Isolation and identification of five bacterial strains able to degrade heat transfer fluid (HTF) used in thermosolar plants. Monitoring of biphenyl, diphenyl ether and HTF degradation capability of isolates, the first reported HTF-degrading bacteria. Detection of BphC activity in all isolates. Tolerance of isolates to very high HTF concentration (up to 150,000 ppm) may allow their use for in situ HTF bioremediation.
