During serum starvation, we found that the translation of DDB2 was increased.

We used dicistronic reporter to identify the IRES activity of DDB2 5′-UTR.

Our data ruled out the cryptic promoter activity and internal splicing event in DDB2 5′-UTR.

Every part of DDB2 5′-UTR plays a very important role in IRES activities.

DDB2 IRES activity was regulated during serum starvation or doxorubicin stimulation.
