Lactobacillus reuteri harbors three functional glutaminases.

Glutamine deamidation improves acid resistance of Lactobacillus reuteri.

Glutamate decarboxylation at pH 4 enhances the 螖 but does not increase the pHin.

Arginine conversion improves acid resistance at pH 3.5 but not at pH 2.5.
