Sources and formation processes of water-soluble HULIS in wintertime were examined. A dual-spot aethalometer was used to characterize the aerosol absorption properties. Spectral characteristics of aerosol light absorption were discussed. Water-insoluble OC and HULIS contributed significantly to aerosol light absorption.
