Sands experienced simple recycling process and with a low degree weathering conditions in the source areas. The sandstones derived from an old upper continental crust predominantly with felsic igneous source rocks. Detrital zircon U-Pb ages suggest that the sands are mainly come from Central Vietnam. The tectonic setting of the sandstones belong to continental island arc (CIA) or the active continental margin (ACM) fields.
