We compared the vocal repertoires of wild 'alalā to those bred in captivity. The acoustic richness and diversity were similar between aviary and wild birds. We found that wild 'alalā had a higher call rate than 'alalā in the aviaries. Repertoire differences included loss of alarm and broadcast calls in aviary 'alalā.
