Buoyant hypopycnal plume was the main sediment dispersal pattern during the WSRS.

At the early stage of WSRS surface sediments off the river mouth became coarser.
•
Surface sediments at the river mouth became finer after the WSRS due to input of fine sediment at the second stage.
•
WSRS has caused changes of morphological features of the Huanghe delta.
