A bio-inspired thermo-responsive imprinted membrane was first prepared. Temperature-dependent binding capacities and enhanced separation properties obtained. Dopamine was first used for synthesizing molecularly imprinted nanocomposite membrane. This special structure endowed the as-prepared membrane with excellent selectivity.
