Green infrastructure practices for improvement of urban air quality

Green Infrastructure (GI) practices provide significant air quality improvement benefits for urban areas. i-Tree Eco software has been used to assess the air quality improvement benefits from various GI scenarios consists of trees, green roofs and green walls for an Australian case study area. Trees showed the highest pollutant removal capability with relatively lower costs. Green roofs and green walls provided more local benefits such as energy savings.
