Flow reversals were observed when inlet gap heights were reduced from 14.68 m.

Cold inflow was impeded by a flow resistor at the tower exit.

Heat discharge rate of temperature-controlled heating source was enhanced.

Favre-averaging gave the true exit temperatures when flow maldistribution occurred.
