Linear retention indices on GC of 13 cyclitol glycosides are provided. Characteristic m/z ions of these cyclitol glycosides have been studied. These data have been correlated with cyclitol glycoside structures. Ratios of m/z ions 133/129 & 260/265 allowed the cyclitol glycoside classification. These criteria are useful for characterizing new cyclitol glycosides in plants.
