A systematic comparison of the 7 kinds of human tDCs generated ex vivo is done. Of these, PKCI- and IL-10-tDCs induce functional regulatory T cells strongly. PKCI-tDCs exhibit CCR7-dependent migration, whereas IL-10-tDCs hardly do so. PKCI-tDCs are generated from patients with rheumatoid arthritis and primary Sjögren's syndrome. PKCI-tDCs show the characteristics best suited for tolerance-inducing therapy.
