The drainage layer varied the saturation profiles in the filtration process. Liquid redistribution was verified by evolution of the thickness of liquid film. Variation on the saturation of fibrous filter was analyzed using capillary theory. Smaller pore size of the drainage layer led to greater saturation of the filter.
