A novel approach for processing organic waste into new food is proposed - digeponics.

A new closed low energy greenhouse system is demonstrated.
•
Digester residue used successfully as a stand-alone fertilizer for the first time.
•
The system has 80% energy demand reduction compared to conventional greenhouses.
•
Commercial crop yields were achieved based on fertilization with digestate.
