W–Nb alloys were prepared by mechanical alloying with different milling times. The grain refined, microstrain and dislocation density increased with the increase in milling time. The formation of W–Nb solid solution was determined. The W–Nb alloy milled for 25 h exhibited the optimal deuterium irradiation resistance.
