Bilayer film electrode of brookite TiO2 particles with different morphology to improve the performance of pure brookite-based dye-sensitized solar cells
High-quality brookite nanocubes and rice-like particles are hydrothermally prepared.

Brookite film of nanocube underlayer and rice-like particle overlayer is fabricated.
•
Bilayer pure brookite-based DSSCs fabricated has higher VOC than the P25-based one.
•
Bilayer cell’s efficiency is improved by 41% compared to the nanocube-based one.
•
Efficiency is close to the record one in the area of pure brookite-based solar cell.
